Our story
A house we built to keep
Ana and Tom found this strip of dune in 2016: a ruined boat shed and a view. Ten years on there is a house, two cabins and a sauna, built with local timber and local hands.

“We built Skerry for the hour after the sun goes down, when the sky turns blue and the sea goes quiet.”

Ana and Tom
Ana grew up two bays along and knows every path on this coast. She looks after guests, the garden and the hand-drawn maps by the stove.
Tom is a carpenter and a cook. He built most of the House with his own hands and lights the long table every Saturday.

How Skerry came together
Slowly, one building at a time, with timber from the forestry up the glen and help from neighbours.

Leave it better than we found it
The dune was bare when we arrived. We replant it every spring, run the houses on wind and sun, and buy what we can from the people around us.

“We came for three nights and stayed for six. The sauna, the swim, the bread at the door. I have not slept like that in years.”

“The light at dusk is something else. We sat on the deck every evening and watched the sea go gold.”
Daniel K. · The Dune Cabin, September
“Quiet, warm and beautifully kept. Ana left a loaf and a map of the coast path, and we used both every day.”
